“A great job has been done. The participants showed very good attitude and great interest during the session. I am sure that we can do a lot for Sailing in Cyprus”. That’s how the ISAF expert in coach development Rob Holden, speaker of the ISAF Technical Course for coaches staged in Limassol from the 16th to 21st of January 2016 in the sea area of the Sailing Center of the Cyprus Sports Organization, commented on the procedures of the course.
The course was organized by the Cyprus Sailing Federation, in cooperation with the Cyprus Olympic Committee, in the framework of the Olympic Solidarity, under the auspices of ISAF. It is a part of the national program.
Rob Holden also referred to Cyprus: “This is the second time I have been here. The first was at the ISAF Youth Sailing World Sailing Championship staged in 2013. I was the coach of the South African national team. What I can say is that Cyprus’ climate conditions are perfect for sailing. They are similar to the conditions in South Africa”.
The course was attended by sixteen coaches, Cypriots and nationals living in Cyprus, who were involved in theoretical and practical training. The participants were awarded the participation diploma (Level 1) and are now eligible to teach.
Damianos Hadjidamianou, Cyprus Olympic Committee’s treasurer, was present. He congratulated the participants, while thanking the Cyprus Sailing Federation for the cooperation.Ηe presented diplomas to the participants. Chris Komitis Cyprus Sailing Federation’s secretary presented diplomas.
